Today we are going to showcase some advantages of being a stay at home mom, which does not mean that it does not have cons. But, I have already written a post about it, if you want to to know more about it, check it out.
Seeing your kids growing right in front of your eyes is one of the big advantages of being a stay at home mom; which is definitely a good thing. In addition it is also rewarding for both you and your kids; this way you will not miss any of your children’s milestones such as their first smiles, first steps, first words etc. I have seen kids reproaching their own parents about being too busy working and not having time for them. I am sure any good mom will never want to hear that from their kids’ mouth, right?
Given you look after your kids, money that was to be spent on nannies can be spared now; besides, the best nanny you can have for your kids it is you and your other half. You know perfectly what you really want for them, also you do not want anything bad to happen to them; nobody else can care more about them then you.
Now, you can save on transportation money as you do not go to work; you can then drop your kids at schools and then later pick them up, and also drive them to any other places. In some countries, where school bus service is not available, parents sometimes hire a driver to drop or and pick up their children if their work schedule does not allow it. There is no need to do that anymore as you left the workforce to dedicate yourself to your family.
You have more time to help with homework. After schools kids need to do their homework; some of them especially the youngest ones or any kids with special needs will need someone to help them focus to study, to explain to them what there are learning so that they get it quite quickly. I remember in my first years in primary school how mom used to help me study. She did that also for my eldest sibling who was in high school as she needed that type of help in order to get good grades.
More time to organize parties and birthdays. As you are a stay at home mom, and also if you are someone who is well organized, you get way more time to prepare parties, birthdays, and other types of celebrations, there will not be any rush, any stress when to do so. Since you are also at home you have the time to prepare them yourself, and even from scratch that way you do not only save money but you can put only healthy ingredients in them. That money saved can later be used for vacation, either to buy the gifts or to contribute to pay for it, or just to put in the savings account.
When organizing my kid’s first birthday, I got charged a lot of money for only one average cake size, as I had no other choice, I accepted to paid that astronomical money. The next year, I opted not to order it anymore, rather I made it myself; I was baffled to see how cheap it came that time. Guys, sometimes you do not have any ideas of how much money you will save by cooking the food yourself when having parties or people over. I did that and I was able to save around $500 for a birthday party.
Actually, we have more time to prepare healthy meals for the whole family when we are stay at home moms. Eating is what we do every day and at least there times a day if snacks are not taking into account. In this day and age we live in a world where people often eat in restaurants, and fast foods have come pervasive in our dietary choices; as a consequence, we suffer from many types of cardiac diseases. It is then important for you to prepare your own meals so that you put healthy dishes on your table all the days of the week or most days. One tip is to plan the menus ahead of time; personally, I do it that way weekly, but I know people who even do it on a monthly basis. Whatever rhythm you choose, it should the one that works for you and for your family.
Not working also means more time to allocate to your significant other. I will not never stop putting emphasis on spending time, quality time for sure, with the other half. Remember that by not dedicating time to your other half you are neglecting him, mainly if that has been happen for a long time.
As a result of spending quality time with the sweetheart, your bond with him gets even stronger, complicity is fostered, more things are shared between the two of you,. Also more memories are made; in other words, your relationship or marriage can become stronger.
Spending time with your kids, talking to them but not lecturing them, although sometimes it needs to be done as well, is quite important. That can make them even more confident, they know how important they are to you, and also they know that you are there for them. This way, your relationship with them can become stronger which is definitely important.
A friend of mine told me that her ex husband was not very present in their two kids’ life. In fact, she heard a conversation with her daughter Melissa and her ex husband where she almost begged him to attend her high graduation, but he was not sure he could be there at that time as he would have to sleep was his answer to his daughter.
This latter was disappointed and sad because she realized that she was not that important for him; that was one proof that he does not really care for her his only daughter. What kind of dad is that man? Missing your kid’s graduation for no good reasons! That was so sad!
Guys being a stay at mom has a lot of perks; dedicating yourself to your kids and your husband can be so rewarding of course this is for people who are fit for it!
